Quentin's Crab.....

Please EXCUSE>>>This is a Repost, the other one kept trying to wiggle down!!
Let me start by saying, I try my hardest to tell my kids about the facts of life no matter what the circumstances. My parents got my boys hermit crabs for Christmas, they each had their own painted shell. Quentin's was spiderman and Ty has spongebob. These are neat little guys...They do require maintenance...keeping them moist, making sure you fix the food dish that they dump on top of themselves each night and they need calcium. Recently, Quentin's crab decided he was going to go ahead and molt...when I say molt I mean this crab looked like it gave birth to another. My lovely husband carried this with such grace down the stairs to show me. We do have a picture somewhere....I may have to dig that picture up. After molting...the instructions say the crab is in a vulnerable state, keep him moist. My husband sprayed the crab every night. The crab was out of his shell and we just thought since he is vulnerable we should isolate him. We made him his own little fort. Well, Wednesday I noticed a fowl smell coming from my boy's room. (It wasn't the normal stinky boy smell) It was a stinky sour smell. So, I checked on the crab, lifted the lid and BAMMM. Yup, I believe his little soul went on up to heaven! So, I let my husband know and we decided we would tell Quentin the truth and not be sneaky and replace it with another one without him knowing! I sat Quentin down and said " Buddy, your crab passed away...his little body is still here but his soul is now in heaven, so say a prayer that God will take care of him." I feel Quentin understood. Later that evening, my husband John and oldest son Quentin went out in the front yard and buried his little crab. He has his own little grave right next to my rose bush. Quentin made sure that his grave had a cross, pop bottle lid ( just in case we lose the cross that has R.I.P Quenin's crab written on it) and it is surrounded with bricks so noone walks on it! Quentin came in and you could tell his heart was broken. He loved this crab so much, it is the first pet he really had to say goodbye to. He was so entirely upset that he cried so hard in my arms and then cried himself to sleep. As a mom, my heart broke for him and there are some things that mommy's just can't fix! We need extra large band-aids for this kind of pain! Quentin, May your heart mend buddy! We love you so much and felt you needed cheering up. So, I hope you have fun at that Justin Bieber concert tonight with your daddy!! All My love, Mommy

This Email was sent by my Grandma and I LOVE IT!!!!

In life we so often take for granted the people in our life, family and friends. We say hurtful things, just to wish they were by our side later down the road. I think this is a very hard lesson to learn in life, so next time you feel the need to say something in anger....STOP, DROP, and PRAY!! AND BREATHE!!! :) B
NAILS IN THE FENCE Make sure you read all the way down to the last sentence. (Most importantly the last sentence) There once was a little boy who had a bad temper. His Father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence. The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the nextfew weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence. Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper. The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone. The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said, 'You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. But It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry, the wound will still be there. A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one.Remember that friends are very rare jewels indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed; They lend an ear, they share words of praise and they always want to open their hearts to us.

We got some Great News today!!!

This is our "Monkey" Jack! If you ask him his name he will tell you it is "monkey"! Lately this poor guy has been through it all!! Back in January, I was pregnant with Thatcher. I was carrying Jack down the stairs and we had a rough fall. His knee swelled and we thought it would go down in time. In March after Thatcher was born, it wasn't getting better...it was getting worse! I had him at the pediatrician repeatedly (we love our pediatrician, we are there a little often though)I finally insisted something be done...we had wrapped it, iced it at night, gave motrin before bed and NOTHING was working. So, our pediatrician who trusts a mother's instinct referred us to a orthopedic surgeon. When we went the first time, he said wrap it, ice it, motrin ( we have done this), of course it didn't work. The second time I insisted on going, he said it was up to me....MRI, surgery, or let it be? We as parents wanted to know what it was before we sent our 2 year old off to surgery...we chose the MRI. So he was sedated...and had uncommon side effects to the sedation medicine (nebutol). The MRI results came back and confirmed he had a large mass in his knee. The surgeon recommended surgery because there was a possibility it was a tumor. June 15th Jack had his surgery (1 hr 30 min) , it seemed
like it took forever. The surgeon came out and told us they found more tissue, so another incision was needed, they now had two biopsy's to send off. TODAY, the results came back and everyone's sweet prayers came through....Jack's tumor was begnign!!! Thank you GOD!! "MY MONKEY" is going to be okay!! He will have a pretty big scar on that knee of his, and lots of doctor visits over the next 6 months to make sure he has no reoccurance! BUT, we can all finally BREATHE, and LOVE more, LAUGH longer and NEVER take a second for granted!

The little moments that make us GIGGLE!

This would be TY! My husband sent this picture to my blackberry today. This was taken on Father's Day, we went to visit my dad...the kids went swimming and had a blast. Ty obviously had to pee very badly, so instead of going in the house to use the restroom...he simply stripped and found a hole in the fence! This is the Bribery picture ;)

Thatcher's NEW trick

Thatcher has recently started to wiggle worm his bottom all the way down the bouncy seat! He stops when his little chunky feet can reach the toys and he sticks his toes through the ring. This made the boys giggle. (Notice the new jean diaper from Huggies) :) He poo's in BLUE!!

Jack having his Morning Meltdown!

Jack started way down at the bottom of the stairs...and ended up halfway up the steps. He is not a morning person! At this point in my morning....(before coffee) I can't even remember what the issue was....but I am sure he either threw a toy at a brother or couldn't have something! This is how our mornings usually start out....Jack has his first meltdown then we can proceed with our day!

A day full of fun at Kings Island!!!

These boys are buckled up and ready to GO! This is our crew, I LOVE being in the front seat and to look back and see these faces makes me realize ALL we were Blessed with; even if they think POO is the funniest word ever and they wipe their boogers on everything! I LOVE THEM!
This is a Man on a Mission ....to get to his work picnic before the raffle started.....We must have hit every traffic jam...bumper to bumper on the way! But...we made it just in time for the raffle! And No, we didn't win! But the food was good and God gave us a wonderful day to enjoy our children and their sweet smiles! I couldn't have asked for a more perfect Day
They were so excited about their GREEN MeAn MoNsTeR faces!!
This was the FIRST ride they rode! They Loved it :) They had to wash off their face paint....It ran everywhere!!
Quentin, Ty and Jack with Snoopy! Quentin was so mad....(he thinks he is too big for snoopy)

Waiting in line for the ride (great pumpkin Charlie Brown) :) Jack and Ty's first roller coaster ride!! They loved it! My Brave guys
What a little Stinker....This is Quentin (Q) he was trying to run behind my back ...so I couldn't get his contagious smile on camera!! Look buddy....I still got you!! Ha Ha!!
These are 3 out of 4 of our little guys!! Look how happy that blue ice cream made them! Poor Jack...(3rd from the left) was covered head to toe in nothing but BLUE (imagine that BLUE) ice cream!! It was the cutest...messiest, stickiest moment; but... it was his moment that he made me realize ..BOYS will be BOYS!!! And ..these are OUR BOYS and they are AMAZING
This is....the man who made sure we got our blueberry sprinkled ice cream today!! This is my husband...Their Daddy!! My favorite part of the day!! :) It is my absolute favorite!! Even though it was so hot the ice cream nearly melted before he made it back to our table...He conquered the mission!!! You are so LOVED!!
Yes, I survived the Day!!! The day of a 3 month old being overheated, my 5 year old jumping out of the SCARY (use to be called scooby ride); and they had to shut the entire ride down because he hid behind the revolving character, my almost 3 year old having a tantrum because he was WAY passed naptime; and my 8 year old ....who got a pop gun from the gift shop and everytime the baby closed his little eyes to drift asleep ...well, he thought it was necessary to pop that thing so loud. And.... my poor husband who nearly had a heart attack when Ty (5) jumped out of (the used to be scooby ride) ... Honey, we really do love you :)
