Letter to Thatcher (5 months)

Thatcher,
As I woke up today, I wanted to be happy and celebrate with you that you are growing and you are 5 months today. But my aching heart won't let me. As, I pulled you into bed with me this morning, memories flood back from the day you were born. That very first push to the very last push that led us to meet your gorgeous little face. I remember pulling you up on my chest and seeing your squishy little face and those big eyes. The LOVE at that very moment can't be explained in words. I remember holding you and thinking how awesome it is to bring our 4th boy into the world and how you are so perfect just like the rest. I look forward to all of your "firsts", but it is a bittersweet feeling as you grow. I want time to go back and re-share moments with you, but at the same time I can't wait to hold you each morning in my arms and cherish what you do next. Those chubby hands, feet, and thighs make me melt. You are one awesome baby Thatcher John! You know that perfect little crooked smile you give that makes mommy giggle? I saw that smile this morning...Please don't lose that playfullness you have. As a matter of fact....You can just stop right now and stay where you are forever and momma would be perfectly fine with her little 5 month old standing time still. If I could freeze time, It would be today! I would keep Q 8, Ty 5, Jack 3 and you 5 months and your daddy and I would enjoy your smiles, laughter, and LOVE! Thatcher, you forever have momma's heart! I LOVE YOU! Happy 5 months old baby boy!
Love,
MOMMA

First Born

Your very first child, you are learning as you go, making mistakes along the way. It's your first experience as a parent and there is no instruction booklet on the "how to's". Quentin was born May 31, 2002, he was a week late. He weighed 8 lbs. 14oz. and he was HUGE!!! He was a good baby....I tried breastfeeding him, but I think with all of the newness of being a momma and overwhelmed (and myself being very young) it was just too much for me to figure out and painful at the time. By the second baby...I was a breastfeeding pro! :)  But Quentin paved the way for the children.." to be" in our life . I learn so much everyday from this child. He taught me that children "are the heart of a mother". There is a certain kind of LOVE that a mother gives a child, it is a LOVE that is unknown until you are a mother. It can never be explained or determined...It can't be measured. It is the Best kind of LOVE. I watch Q each and everyday, as he is now 8..I can't believe that he is so big . He takes each day and not only learns something new himself...He teaches me from a child's perspective about life and all the wonders of how things become the way they are. He LOVES his newest baby brother Thatcher, as he LOVES his other brothers. I have noticed lately, that Quentin enjoy's playing with the baby, he LOVES to make him giggle, he LOVES to LOVE him! Watching him LOVE is the most heart fullfilling feeling. He just amazes me, I am still learning as he paves the way for his brothers...I hope I never stop learning from him because that will mean he no longer needs me. That is a day I never want to come!!! He is an amazing child and everyday he shows me another way to LOVE him! I LOVE YOU QUENTIN!
LOVE,
Momma

Crazy Invention that Thatcher LOVES!

I think the bumbo is amazing! Even Thatcher's juicy thighs fit in it....when I take him out his thighs get stuck. I think whoever came up with this invention is genius!! It even has the tray for feeding, playing and snacking.

Thatcher is at that stage where he gets bored easily...So between the bouncer, jumparoo, swing and bumbo we are playing musical chairs when we aren't holding him and having tummy time!

Sweetness from the mouths of Babes...

This morning, after I pulled Thatcher into bed with me..still half asleep....we snuggled. Ty came into my bed and was lying on the other side of me. Ty peeked his head up and stared at Thatcher for a few minutes and in the kindest, most sweetest little voice he says " Mommy, Thatcher looks so beautiful asleep with his eyes closed like that."  awwww....my heart turned to mush in about a second flat! It's amazing how children can say things that are pure and honest and sometimes very sweet! I just had to share this moment that we shared this morning, I LOVE my boys!

Then Jack came busting in and slamming doors and woke everyone up...but we had that sweet little moment before our little tornado woke up!

Momma is getting her Groove back!!

Have you ever felt that you got yourself into a funk? That you wear the same stuff daily, throw a hat on your head and walk out the door? Or after you have your children, you just gave up on yourself and refuse to spend a second making yourself feel good? Well, after Thatcher was born March 5th, 2010 I did that! I got into a funk, I wore sweats , a t-shirt, a ballcap and not a swipe of make-up made it to my face!
But, last week I got my hair done,my mom and grandma surprised me with some very cute clothes and on Saturday before church I decided to spend some time on myself while the baby was napping! I used some make-up, fixed my hair, dressed up and I felt like a NEW person. I felt so good about myself and it gave me a boost of confidence. I believe when we have children we sometimes lose ourselves in our families and the hustle bustle of our daily lives. I think every mom should take a little time out for herself because it really improves your attitude and gives you that boost that mommies sometimes need! So, paint your toes, take a walk....remember where you put that foundation tube at? Go grab it and give yourself a little attitude boost! Work it mommas'!!

My grandpa

This is my Grandpa....you know when you are a little girl and you dream about who you want your husband to be most like when you grow up?
Well, this would be that man for me! I wanted to marry a man that was like my grandpa...A kind heart, joking personality and who LOVEs unconditionally! My grandpa is the greatest grandpa ever! You can tell he adores my grandma and LOVEs her with his whole heart. He always puts her first and treats her the way a woman should always be treated! That grin on his face in this picture...he is looking at my grandma! I hope that my husband and I can continue on the tradition of that kind of LOVE!!! This is a man with A BIG heart and I LOVE him!
